Seamstress Corner - Tips

Creating delicate Angel Gowns from donated wedding dresses offers many unique challenges. Most (if not all) seamstresses are volunteers and some have little or no previous sewing experience. The use of donated wedding dresses require the seamstress to know what parts, if any, of the dresses can be used, the most efficient ways to take apart the dresses and embellishments, and how best to cut the angel gown pieces from the dress. Many angel garments can be made with basic sewing techniques but the tiny size of them and the sometimes slippery fabrics can be challenging.
